Canal Street Holiday Lighting Ceremony
Join us on Tuesday, November 25th to kick off the 2025 holiday season and illuminate Canal Street and the surrounding Downtown area for the winter months.
Santa will flip the switch to light up Canal Street at 5:45 pm
In keeping with the storied annual tradition, the Downtown Development District of the City of New Orleans (DDD) will host the Holiday Lighting of Canal Street Tuesday, November 25 at Canal Place. Enjoy live music, hot chocolate, photo opportunities, a glitter bar and special appearances by Santa and his elves starting at 3:30 p.m. DDD leadership and City officials will say a few words before turning on more than 2-miles and 1 million lights down Canal Street at 5:45 pm.

Holly Jolly Stroll
Kick off the holiday season with Canal Place at the inaugural Holly Jolly Stroll which takes place immediately following the Lighting of Canal Street ceremony. After you take in the twinkling lights on Canal Street, step inside to enjoy complimentary refreshments and sweet treats from your favorite stores.
